4-Session Fall Group Dog Training Program

Our community-based canine education program this fall in Oswego, is designed to teach your dog essential obedience commands, socialization, and good manners. Our group training sessions cover everything from basic commands, structured walks and polite greetings, helping you nurture a well-rounded, well-behaved dog that interacts comfortably with people and other animals.

Dogs Of All Breeds, Ages and Sizes Are Welcome

Join us this fall for a transformative 4-Session Group Dog Training Program in downtown Oswego, hosted by Paws On Main St. This is a Training That Lasts fall program led by Tyler the Trainer. Our program offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your bond and learn effective communication techniques. Over four Saturday mornings, from 9:00-10:30am, you will “embark” on a journey to enhance obedience, improve behavior, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Below is an overview of the sessions and depending on our group, we could improvise to make sure this program is most effective for everyone attending!

10/19/2024 – Session 1: Laying the Foundation

In the first session, we’ll cover the basics of obedience commands, including sit, stay, and come. You’ll learn the fundamentals of effective communication with your dog, setting the stage for more advanced training. This session also includes exercises to familiarize your dog with new environments.

10/26/2024 – Session 2: Structured Walks 101

The second session focuses on improving your dog’s behavior during walks. We’ll utilize environmental distractions to sharpen your dog’s focus and responsiveness, teach attentive leash handling techniques, and address common triggers that may cause reactivity or distraction during walks. This session is designed to make walks more enjoyable and controlled for both you and your dog.

11/02/2024 – Session 3: Socialization Essentials

Socialization is key to a well-rounded dog. In this session, Tyler will explore how to properly socialize your dog with both humans and other dogs. You’ll learn to address undesirable behaviors such as jumping and excessive barking. We’ll provide strategies to manage impulsivity and enhance focus during interactions. This midpoint session also includes a check-in, where participants can discuss specific areas they’d like to focus on.

11/09/2024 – Session 4: Real-World Application, Review, Celebrate Progress and Plan Ahead

In the final session, we’ll apply everything learned throughout the program in real-world scenarios. You’ll practice communication methods in everyday situations, prepare for off-leash reliability, and master the recall command. We’ll conduct a comprehensive review of all techniques, provide individual assessments, and discuss continuing education opportunities. To celebrate the progress made, the session concludes with an awards ceremony featuring prizes and giveaways, recognizing the hard work and achievements of all participants.

With small, focused groups capped at 10 dogs, participants receive personalized attention and tailored instruction.
