Participants should bring essential items such as a slip lead leash, collar, or harness, along with their dog’s favorite treats for training purposes. It’s also advisable to bring water and a portable bowl, especially for outdoor classes. Owners should be ready to actively engage with their dogs during each session, as hands-on practice is crucial for effective learning.
During the group training, handlers can expect progression of skill levels. Training methods often include positive reinforcement techniques, but aren’t limited to any certain techniques. We focus on rewarding desired behaviors to encourage repetition, among many other tools that will give you the confidence as a dog handler. The role of you, the dog handler, is crucial! Active participation and consistency in practice are key to your dog’s success! We sometimes assign follow-up homework to reinforce skills learned during the sessions.
It’s beneficial to hear from past participants to gauge the program’s effectiveness. Success stories often highlight significant improvements in obedience and behavior, fostering a positive and disciplined environment for both dogs and their owners.
