Tails on the Trails with Training That Lasts
Sunday, September 13, 2026
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Morton Arboretum
4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532
Training That Lasts will be at Tails on the Trails at The Morton Arboretum, and we’d love for you and your dog to come out and see us.
For one special day, dogs are welcome to explore the Arboretum trails while visitors enjoy a pet expo featuring local pet businesses, rescues, shelters, products, services, and dog-focused organizations.
Training That Lasts will be there as an official participating vendor, so make sure you stop by our booth and say hello.
A Great Real-World Training Opportunity
Events like Tails on the Trails are also a great way to see how your dog’s training holds up outside of the home.
Real life includes other dogs, new people, crowds, unfamiliar smells, movement, and plenty of distractions.
Can your dog practice loose leash walking when another dog passes?
Can they maintain engagement with you in a busy environment?
Can they notice another dog without immediately needing to greet, bark, pull, or react?
These are the everyday skills we focus on at Training That Lasts.
If your dog struggles around other dogs, learn more about dog reactivity and how excitement, frustration, fear, and overstimulation can affect behavior.

Is Your Dog Ready?
Tails on the Trails can be a busy environment with a lot of dogs and people.
For many dogs, this is a great opportunity to practice existing skills. For dogs that become extremely overwhelmed, aggressive, or difficult to safely manage around unfamiliar dogs, a crowded event may not be the best first step.
If you need help preparing your dog for public outings, explore our Dog Training Library, Dog Behavior Library, or schedule a Behavioral Consultation.
